2. What is an RNG (Random Number Generator)?
A Random Number Generator (RNG) is a complex algorithm used in digital casino games, such as video slots and software-based table games (like digital blackjack or roulette).
- How it works: The RNG constantly generates a random sequence of numbers, millions of times per second. At the exact moment you press the "Spin" or "Deal" button, the RNG stops on a specific number that determines the outcome of your round.
- Randomness: Because this process is completely random, each game round is independent of the previous one. You cannot predict when a slot machine will pay out based on previous spins.
- Live Casino: In Live Casino games, no RNG is used for dealing the cards or spinning the wheel; here, real croupiers and physical materials provide the random element, just like in a physical casino.
3. What is RTP (Return To Player)?
Return to Player (RTP) is the percentage of all wagered money that a specific casino game pays back to players over the long term.
An example: If a slot has an RTP of 96%, this theoretically means that for every €100 that is collectively put into the machine by all players, €96 is paid out as winnings over millions of spins. The remaining 4% is the house edge (the casino's profit margin).
